Toveren... klinkt geweldig!”, antwoordde ze. **Adobe omschrijft het programma als volgt:** ‘s Werelds beste app voor beeldbewerking en ontwerp vormt de kern van bijna elk creatief project. Werk op je desktop en mobiele apparaten en creëer en verbeter foto’s, ontwerpen, inclusief websites en mobiele apps, 3D-artwork, video’s, en meer. **Geschiedenis** De eerste versie van Photoshop verscheen in februari 1990. Het is ontwikkeld door Adobe. Al in 1987 legde student Thomas Knoll op zijn Macintosh Plus de fundering voor Photoshop. De student ontwikkelde de software samen met zijn broer op Mac System 6, het heette toen nog Image Pro. Aanvankelijk werd de software bij scanners geleverd, maar in 1989 sloten de gebroeders Knoll en Adobe een deal. Een jaar later was Photoshop 1.0 geboren. Het merk is een werkwoord geworden! Er zijn heel veel video cursussen op YouTube die erg verhelderend zijn, cursusboeken zijn er ook in overvloed. Adobe heeft vele tutorials die diep op de mogelijkheden in gaan: [https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/how-to/photoshop-cc.html](https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/how-to/photoshop-cc.html) Voor de consument is er daarom de eenvoudigere versie Photoshop Elements. Dit biedt veel van dezelfde functies als de originele versie en is niet alleen eenvoudiger in gebruik, maar ook een stuk voordeliger. **Waarom Photoshop:** Photoshop is naadloos te gebruiken met alle andere programma’s van Adobe. Het is eigenlijk zo, dat Photoshop de spil is waar alle andere programma’s van Adobe om draaien. Of het nu grafische vormgeving, video bewerking of illustreren is. Hou je van fotografie en wil je meer halen uit je foto’s, dan is Photoshop jouw fotostudio! Alles wat je maar kan bedenken is digitaal te maken in Photoshop: 2D, 3D en zelfs video. Een bekende wijsheid. Artikelen waarin veel beeld is verwerkt lezen niet alleen veel prettiger, maar we begrijpen de inhoud ook sneller (en beter). In feite heeft de mensheid nooit anders gedaan. Sterker nog: voordat de mens kon schrijven (en lezen) communiceerde hij al met beeld. Denk maar aan de rotstekeningen uit de pre-historie. Als je er goed in bent dan kan je er je beroep van maken, er is veel behoefte naar visualisators met een vernieuwende visie. Deze tijd van snelle mediaconsumptie is communicatie zonder beeldondersteuning onmogelijk.
